The case is linked to 37-year-old Megan Bos, who was reported missing on March 9. Her family said they last heard from her in February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), human remains were discovered earlier this year in a storage container located on Mendoza-Gonzalez\u2019s property. Investigators believe the remains had been concealed there for several weeks before being found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following his initial arrest, Mendoza-Gonzalez was released after a court appearance in Lake County\u2014a move that sparked criticism from some local officials.
