She organized everything on her own\u2014right down to the hand-drawn sign, pricing (\u201c25\u00a2 per cup\u201d), and even added a cheerful note promising a discount for anyone who waved. She dragged out her Frozen-themed table, filled a red container with coins, and set up shop barefoot on the sidewalk, rehearsing her \u201cHi there!\u201d each time a car went by.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"512\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/coolxmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/policii-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coolxmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/policii-1.jpg 512w, https:\/\/coolxmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/policii-1-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Even after an hour without a single customer, Mackenzie stayed hopeful and focused. Then, a police car slowly drove past. She sat up a little straighter, clearly nervous. To our surprise, the cruiser came back around and stopped right in front of her stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the officers stepped out and greeted her warmly. \u201cWe received a call,\u201d he said with a friendly grin. \u201cSomeone reported an \u2018unauthorized business set up on the sidewalk.\u2019 That wouldn\u2019t happen to be you, would it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mackenzie blinked. \u201cI just have lemonade\u2026 and waving doesn\u2019t cost anything,\u201d she said softly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The officer laughed and took a look at her handmade sign. \u201cWe\u2019re pretty serious about lemonade laws in this neighborhood,\u201d he joked. \u201cMight need to conduct a taste test.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With slightly shaking hands, she poured him a cup.
