<\/figure>\n\n\n\nOfficers were called about 9:30 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of West Beecher Avenue after people reported hearing gunshots, according to Lt. Sean Haefeli. They found evidence confirming shots had been fired, according to a police report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ongoing investigation comes just days after a Jacksonville house was struck by gunfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In that incident, police were called at 6:32 a.m. Thursday after someone reported hearing gunfire in the 700 block of South Main Street. Officers initially could not find anything to confirm the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
About two hours later, at 8:46 a,m. Thursday, a resident of the 100 block of West Chambers Street, just off South Main Street, called to report finding a bullet casing outside their house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police connected it to the earlier call and officers were able to confirm damage to the house from a shot being fired.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Authorities investigated six reports of shots fired in 2025. One of those cases occurred in the same vicinity as Monday’s call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers were called about 4 a.m. Aug. 23 for reports of three to five shots being fired. Although initially considered unfounded, a resident notified police about 8:20 p.m. that day that gunshots had struck his house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
