Whether respondents were young or old, from North America or Europe, the general preference remained consistent\u2014women leaning toward taller partners, and men gravitating toward slightly shorter women. This consistency suggests a mix of cultural and evolutionary influences at play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The researchers also looked into how these preferences shifted based on the type of relationship. While height differences were seen in both casual and committed relationship choices, the contrast was more noticeable when participants thought about a serious, long-term partner.
