Days passed with no response, and fear set in as concerned family members and authorities mobilized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On <strong>July 2<\/strong>, hikers discovered a body beneath a bridge near Anderson Lake County Park. The <strong>Santa Clara County Coroner\u2019s Office<\/strong> confirmed on <strong>July 3<\/strong> that the remains belonged to Marissa The discovery sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities have named <strong>21\u2011year\u2011old Martin Mendoza<\/strong>, Marissa\u2019s boyfriend, as a <strong>person of interest<\/strong>. Surveillance footage shows the couple leaving a Trail Drive residence on <strong>June 29<\/strong>, after which Marissa\u2019s car was found abandoned. Mendoza was captured driving away alone in her vehicle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fragment of that footage reportedly included a tense confrontation. Friends later revealed Marissa had voiced fears about Mendoza\u2019s jealousy and threatening behavior One best friend shared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMarissa has told me\u2026 that he would kill her\u2026 that he&#8217;s obsessive\u2026 and willing to go to that extent\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the weeks following her disappearance, search teams\u2014including her own family\u2014scoured the area. A drone operator spotted the body, prompting authorities to investigate Brandon\u2019s body under the bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Morgan Hill Police<\/strong>, with help from the Santa Clara County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, FBI, and Homeland Security, continue actively investigating.
