Former President Joe Biden says political and international figures, including European heads of state, continue to seek his advice\u2014even after stepping down amid increasing criticism and concerns about his leadership.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden surprised many at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) convention in San Diego last week when he suggested he’s still playing an unofficial advisory role behind the scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Western Journal<\/em>, Biden told SHRM President Johnny Taylor, \u201cI\u2019m getting calls\u2014I\u2019m not going to go into detail, I can\u2019t\u2014but from several European leaders asking me to get involved.\u201d<\/em> He added, \u201cI\u2019m giving advice, but I\u2019m not [taking action]\u2026 things have changed.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Democratic strategist Chris Jackson shared a clip of the moment on X, showing Biden speaking in a soft, at times hesitant tone that occasionally shifted to passionate emphasis mid-sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I often ask the rhetorical question: if America doesn\u2019t lead, who will?”<\/em> Biden said, his voice intensifying. \u201cI\u2019m serious\u2014it\u2019s not about power. Who else can bring people together?\u201d<\/em> He also claimed that lawmakers from both political parties continue to reach out to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I\u2019ve got a lot of Republican and Democratic friends who just want to talk,”<\/em> he said. \u201cNot because they think I have all the answers\u2014just to bounce ideas around.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps the most puzzling comment came when Biden added, \u201cI\u2019m also laying rubber with my \u201967 Corvette on my driveway.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Critics were quick to seize on the remarks, calling them outdated and symbolic of the larger concerns that plagued his presidency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
