SPAM, the iconic canned meat introduced by Hormel Foods in 1937, has been a kitchen staple worldwide for decades. Known for its unique flavor, long shelf life, and versatility, it’s been used in everything from classic breakfasts to upscale dishes.

One of the ongoing mysteries about SPAM is the meaning behind its name. Over time, guesses have included “Shoulder of Pork And Ham” and “Specially Processed American Meat.” Hormel has never confirmed the exact meaning, which has only fueled curiosity.
