CBS Announces End of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2026
CBS has officially confirmed that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will wrap up in May 2026, marking the end of one of the most acclaimed chapters in late-night television history.
After more than ten years of blending sharp political humor, thoughtful interviews, and cultural insight, Colbert will step away from the desk that made him a nightly favorite for millions.
CBS Releases Official Statement
In a press release, CBS honored Colbert’s legacy, calling him “irreplaceable.” The network also revealed that once Colbert signs off, the Late Show franchise will come to a close as well.
“He and the show will be remembered among the legends who helped define late-night TV,” the statement said.
