WE INHERITED $250K, AND DECIDED TO SPEND IT ON OURSELVES, NOT THEM

When the bank alert popped up, we just stared at the number on the screen: $250,000.
It was my parents’ final gift—a lifetime of simple living, careful saving, and quiet sacrifice.

Most folks would immediately put money like this aside for their kids: college funds, a house down payment, something practical and “responsible.” But then my wife looked at me and asked a question that changed everything:

“What if this time… we didn’t?”

Not because we didn’t love our kids—far from it. We’d raised them to work hard, build their own futures, and stand strong on their own two feet. After years of putting ourselves last, we realized maybe this inheritance wasn’t for them at all.

Maybe, for once, it was for us.

Choosing a Different Path
So we made a surprising choice: we bought a camper.

Nothing fancy, just a cozy little home on wheels—a kitchen, a bed, and enough room to chase sunsets across state lines. We planned trips to National Parks, explored backroads, and found quiet nights beneath skies without cell towers.
