Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel may face serious repercussions after coming under scrutiny from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for comments he made regarding Charlie Kirk’s tragic death. RadarOnline.com reports that FCC Chairman Brendan Carr has indicated that ABC and Disney might face penalties for what he called “misleading the public.”
The controversy ignited when Kimmel addressed the political ties of Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. Kimmel’s remarks, which labeled Robinson as a MAGA supporter, quickly spread online and sparked widespread debate.
“We reached new lows this weekend with the MAGA crowd desperately trying to portray the kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,” Kimmel said during his show, accusing some of exploiting the tragedy for political gain.
FCC Reaction and Possible Penalties
During a podcast interview with Benny Johnson, Chairman Carr condemned Kimmel’s comments as “truly sick” and hinted that they might lead to suspension or other disciplinary actions.
