Mom sees ‘God’s hand’ holding baby’s head in ultrasound

In a touching story that has moved many, a mother from Kentucky says a recent ultrasound image gave her a deep sense of peace and reassurance during a difficult pregnancy.

Amanda Foster, 33, is currently expecting her fourth child—a baby boy named Kyler. In April 2022, she posted an ultrasound photo on Facebook that quickly gained widespread attention—not just because of the medical news, but due to what she and her daughter believe they witnessed in the scan: what looks like a hand gently supporting the baby’s head.

Foster shared that this pregnancy has been filled with emotional ups and downs. Years ago, she tragically lost her first son, Xavier, at only 20 weeks due to a rare and life-threatening condition known as Potter syndrome, which affects kidney development in the womb. The heartbreaking loss left a lasting impact, and she later discovered the condition tends to occur more often in male babies.

Now pregnant with another boy, Amanda says this journey hasn’t been easy either. Early screenings showed signs of a heart irregularity, leading to frequent monitoring and high-risk prenatal care. Amanda explained that before each ultrasound, she would pray for courage and for her baby’s well-being.
