On Father’s Day, Rumer Willis posted a touching tribute to her father, Bruce Willis, who is currently facing frontotemporal dementia. The celebrated actor, widely known for his role in Die Hard, was diagnosed in 2023 after an earlier aphasia diagnosis forced him to retire from acting.
In an emotional Instagram post, Rumer expressed how much she misses the deep connection they once shared.
“Today is tough,” she wrote. “There’s a heaviness in my heart wishing I could talk to you, hold you close, and hear your stories.”
Despite the sadness, her message was filled with love and gratitude. “I know you wouldn’t want me to be down today,” she added. “So I’m choosing to focus on how fortunate I am to have you as my dad—and to still be able to hold your hand and kiss your cheek.”
Rumer also shared a joyful moment, describing how Bruce’s face lights up when he sees his granddaughter, Louetta. She closed her post with a special shout-out: “To all the single moms who also play the role of dad, and to my future partner—Happy Father’s Day. ❤️
