House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., faced ridicule from conservatives on social media after sharing a photo of himself holding a baseball bat and vowing to oppose President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”

“House Democrats will continue to fight back against Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill,” Jeffries wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday, featuring an image of him in his office with a Louisville Slugger in hand.
“All they have left is to incite violence,” posted Jim Hanson, president of the Security Studies Group, on X.
“What is he trying to suggest with this? Is it some kind of threat?” questioned White House deputy press secretary Abigail Marone in a post on X.
“Beta,” wrote Rep. Tony Wied, R-Wis., in a brief post on the platform.
“The distance between his actual charisma and how charismatic he thinks he is could stretch across the Grand Canyon,” quipped Matt Gorman, president of Targeted Victory.
“Sir, kindly set the bat down,” commented Sean Southard, communications director for Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte, on X.
Earlier that same day, FHFA Director Bill Pulte issued a statement on X calling for a congressional probe into Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s allegedly misleading testimony — which Pulte claimed was enough to warrant his removal from office.
