A family in Inverness, Scotland was stunned to discover around 180,000 bees living under their floor—more buzzing than their children!

It all started when the grandchildren noticed strange buzzing sounds at night. Curious, their grandfather investigated and lifted a few floorboards—revealing a massive hidden colony overflowing with honey.

A local beekeeper from Loch Ness Honey Company was called in to assess the situation. Using a thermal camera, he identified three separate hives, including one that had been undisturbed for at least seven years.

With care and special equipment, the bees were safely relocated to temporary hives, their wax collected (but not sold), and the colonies are now being monitored to ensure they remain healthy before moving to permanent hives.

The three hives were fed and carefully managed to help the bees survive the winter. Considering that a queen bee can lay up to 2,000 eggs per day, this delicate operation was crucial for the survival of the colony.

A s.h σcking and sweet discovery that has truly caused a buzz online! Sometimes, the strangest noises in your home might hide an unbelievable secret.
