Camp Mystic counselor Emma Foltz helps save 14 campers in Texas flood

Devastating flash floods continue to wreak havoc across Texas, with the confirmed death toll now reaching 81. Among the hardest-hit regions is Kerr County, where the Guadalupe River surged beyond its banks after relentless rainfall. One of the most tragic incidents occurred at Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp for girls, where at least 27 campers and staff members sadly lost their lives.

Amid the overwhelming sorrow, stories of bravery and selflessness have begun to emerge. One remarkable account centers around Emma Foltz, a camp counselor who is now being hailed as a hero for rescuing 14 young girls during the flooding.

Camp Mystic released an emotional statement in the wake of the tragedy:
“Our hearts are shattered for the families enduring this unthinkable loss. We are holding them in our prayers and are maintaining close coordination with local officials as search and rescue efforts continue.”

Governor Donald Trump has signed a major disaster declaration for Kerr County to support emergency response and recovery operations. Rescue teams are still actively searching for those who remain unaccounted for.
