Let’s honor the animal lovers who rescued the dog covered in tar – true heroes!

What started as a normal walk quickly turned into an unforgettable rescue mission for two young men in Lanús, Argentina. While walking down the street, they noticed something moving slowly out of a ditch. At first glance, it appeared to be a strange, dark figure. But as they approached, they made a heartbreaking discovery—it was a dog, and he was in urgent need of help.

The poor animal was completely coated in a thick, black, sticky substance. The odor was strong, and his movements were slow and labored. The young men soon realized the substance was tar—a material commonly used in construction but extremely harmful to living creatures when it contacts the skin.

Without hesitation, they stopped a police officer, who assisted in transporting the dog to a nearby animal rescue center, Zoonosis Lanús. Volunteers at the shelter were shocked by the dog’s condition. Many said they had never seen a case like this before.

The team immediately began efforts to remove the tar. They bathed the dog with soap and warm water, but it made little difference. The sticky substance had hardened and stuck tightly to the dog’s fur and skin, making it incredibly challenging to clean.
