Family’s Tragic Accident Sparks Calls for Road Safety Improvements in Cariri Region
What began as a hopeful journey turned heartbreaking early Sunday morning, July 16, when a family of three lost their lives in a car accident on the CE-060 highway between Caririaçu and Juazeiro do Norte, in Ceará’s Cariri region.
Hérida Nascimento da Silva, Sebastião Cícero Gomes, and their 3-year-old son, Miguel Nascimento Gomes, were traveling from Várzea Alegre to Juazeiro do Norte so that Miguel could undergo a medical procedure. Sadly, they never made it.
