The unexpected and heartbreaking death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk has sent shockwaves across the nation, prompting an outpouring of tributes as well as a wave of online speculation.
Among the theories circulating on social media, some users pointed to a man seen near Kirk at the time of the shooting, claiming he bore a striking resemblance to a former Secret Service agent who once guarded ex-President Donald Trump.
Trump Confirms Suspect in Custody
Appearing on Fox & Friends Friday morning, former President Donald Trump confirmed that authorities had arrested a suspect connected to Kirk’s fatal shooting. Multiple news organizations, citing law enforcement sources, have since identified the individual as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah.
“I believe we can say with a high level of confidence that he’s in custody,” Trump said during the segment, noting that a person “very close” to the suspect played a key role in helping officials locate him.
The former president also paid tribute to Kirk, calling him “one of the finest people I’ve known,” and emphasized his hope that justice would be served swiftly and completely. The tragedy appeared to hit especially hard for Trump, who survived two assassination attempts himself just last year.
