Minneapolis Shooting Claims Life of Poet and Mother, Renee Nicole Good

A tragic incident in Minneapolis has taken the life of 37-year-old poet and mother-of-three, Renee Nicole Good, sparking grief, outrage, and renewed scrutiny of federal immigration enforcement procedures.

Good, known for her creativity, compassion, and dedication to her children, was shot during an ICE enforcement operation Wednesday. Video and official reports indicate that authorities say she did not comply with orders to exit her vehicle and attempted to reverse away, at which point she was shot multiple times and died at the scene.

Her mother, Donna Ganger, told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that Renee was “probably terrified” in her final moments and dismissed rumors linking her daughter to ongoing protests near the operation. “That’s so stupid,” Ganger said. “Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. She was compassionate, loving, forgiving, and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
