Paisley McKnight has safely returned home after being evacuated from her Texas summer camp amid widespread flooding that claimed over 100 lives.

Her mother, Mindy McKnight, updated concerned followers via social media, explaining that Paisley’s camp was only a few miles from Camp Mystic, where flooding led to severe loss and ongoing search efforts.
Due to the extreme rainfall on July 4, the Guadalupe River overflowed, leading to emergency situations throughout the region. Paisley’s camp, which sits on a smaller branch of the river and is located at a higher elevation, avoided the worst damage. Campers remained sheltered in their cabins without electricity or internet access, awaiting safe evacuation.
Mindy later shared a video update confirming Paisley was doing well but that direct pickup from the camp wasn’t possible due to hazardous conditions. Thankfully, Paisley was able to fly out on a seat made available on a privately chartered plane organized by another parent.
“We made a fast, last-minute decision to get her on that flight, hoping it would bring her home sooner,” Mindy explained, describing the day as chaotic but ultimately successful in reuniting the family.
Once home, Paisley recounted the difficult circumstances: no working toilets, helicopters delivering water, storm damage, and emotional stress from the isolation. She had been unaware of the extent of the tragedy until they were finally able to leave the cabins and see the damage around the lower parts of the camp and the surrounding area.
Mindy noted that Paisley saw uprooted trees, damaged buildings, flipped cars, and widespread debris. Tragically, one of Paisley’s campmates was still missing several relatives who had been camping nearby during the storm.
Though safe, Paisley is still processing the emotional impact of her experience. Mindy expressed deep gratitude for the support and messages their family received throughout the ordeal.
